Dog Gender

Being more hostile and destructive, particularly in small spaces are the typical traits of male dogs as held by some dog owners. Female dogs, or 'bitches' are said to be easier to train and more affectionate. Dependent the dog type, these stereotypes may be true or not. There are lots of things that you should be aware of when you want to choose a female dog such as the need to spay so that unwanted birth will be avoided or simply control your dog during the times of being in heat. Failure to take action for doggie birth control means that you're constantly trying to find homes for cute litters of pups.

Bad Dogs

Whenever the owner of a dog calls it bad, it is normally a reflection of them. The feeling is very irritating when a dog jumps on you and puts paw prints over everything you're wearing. When your front yard turns into a ready made toilet for your next door neighbors' dog, it can be equally irritating. Are these bad dogs? No, they are not any worse than the neighbor's out of control kids. The dog ought to be given pre-set behavioral limits when inside or when it is taken to public places. It is wise decision to take the help of a dog trainer to learn the tricks of handling this pet without spoiling its personality. Your vet office or local pet store can put you in touch with trainers who hold classes with pets and their owners but another option is to look for online help.

Buying a Puppy

A puppy never fails to fascinate anyone with its innocent personality. One can easily understand why some would have an inert fear or dislike or a large, growling, fearsome adult dog, but a tiny little puppy can melt the heart of anyone. The feeling of love that a puppy generates is no different from that of an infant. A puppy can easily fit into your lifestyle and environment.

Size doesn't matter that much with canines and caring for a small dog is pretty much the same as a big one. However, owners need to make a few adjustments to best meet their small dog's needs. Pet Insurance - Have You Considered It?

When I first read about pet insurance I thought, yea right.  But once I got a bit more educated on it, I realized that many pet owners are unaware or no nothing about pet insurance and maybe they should.  I hope this article will help educate you on this topic and explain many of the options out there.  I hope you enjoy it and learn something as well.

There are millions of pet owners in America but the vast majority do not have pet insurance; when these creatures are treated much like a member of the home, this is peculiar. Generally speaking, health insurance is not something that people neglect; when we arrange insurance for every other area, why isn't the family pet insured?

Best in Show: The Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show

A conformation dog show, as the name suggests, is a show in which expert judges evaluate dogs according to how well they conform to their specific breed standards. These shows are often associated with specific kennel clubs, and are some of the most recognized dog shows in the world due to their prestige and media coverage. While obstacle courses and agility races are a lot more exciting, there is much more money involved for breeds and owners alike in conformation shows. The first conformation show was held almost 150 years ago in England, and since then, many new rules, standards and even breeds have been added to the mix. The Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show, first held in 1877, is the most prestigious dog show in the United States, and one of the most important platforms for pedigree dogs in the sport.

Steps To Training A Show Dog

Just because you own a dog that is a perfect example of how its breed should look doesn’t automatically mean that it will be a champion show dog. Dog Show On TV Thanksgiving Day

No, I am not thinking about the underdogs that will be playing in the two NFL games that day on national television. An audience even larger than the one that will be watching the NFL games will be watching the "National Dog Show" live from Philadelphia on NBC.

This Thanksgiving Day dog show is sponsored by Purina and comes on immediately following the Macys Thanksgiving Day Parade. This rapidly becoming holiday tradition has viewership numbers in the mid 20 million, and is now broadcast in HD. The picture is so clear and detailed that you have to hold yourself back from reaching through the screen to pet the dogs.
